About SCCT

A series of acting classes taught by Randy Carr at the Western Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL) sparked the idea of forming a community theater in Silver City.

In December 2014 the newly minted SCCT kicked off it's inaugural season with an original one-act comedy “A Twilight Christmas” written by Randy Carr, Jim Kelly, and Sharyn McDonald. The crowds braved the winter weather and filled the seats at Western New Mexico University’s Light Hall Theater. SCCT was on it’s way.

Now a thriving community theater company with ever more productions under our belt, SCCT continues on our mission: To enrich, educate and entertain the Silver City and Grant County communities by providing a broad range of live theater experiences on a recurring, seasonal basis.

We are excited to be celebrating 5 years of community theater in Silver City, and we look forward to many more!
