Silver City Community Theatre (SCCT) is looking for teaching artists who love working with kids. In furtherance of our objective, “to enrich, educate, and entertain with a vibrant range of live theater experiences year-round,” we developed the SCCT Youth Theatre Project, offering drama workshops to engage local students after school, on weekends, and over school breaks.
Our philosophy is that every child is an artist and an actor, and through theatre, they have a chance to explore their wild imaginations and appreciate their own creativity. The SCCT Youth Theatre Project teaching team is comprised of amazingly talented, heartfelt actors/instructors. If chosen to join our team, you will love being a part of this organization.
We are currently hiring for a Spring Break Drama Camp running the week of March 13-18, as well as for TBA Drama Camps over Summer and Fall school breaks. The camps run 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Each camp may have up to 12 students ages 6–10. There will be one director, two assistant directors, and two interns. During the camp, students will be learning basic drama skills as well as rehearsing a simple show to share with parents and family on the last day.
Preferred qualifications for Directors and Assistant Directors:
At least five years' experience in theatre.
Three years' experience teaching drama to kids OR
